2JE Shining Stars

We have had the BEST year in 2JE We are nearly ready for Year 3!

On Tuesday we did some science on magnets. There were lots of shapes and sizes of magnets. One of the groups did science on static electricity. We had to rub the balloon on the carpet to make it work. Then we put the balloon on our hair, the table, the window and our clothes. We were trying to make static electric from the balloon. Then we made a fish and put a iron paper clip so the magnet could attract it. We used a ruler for a fishing rod and tied a string to the magnet to pick up the paperclip to pick up the fish. Today we visited the chickens. We wanted to find out more information about them. There were different types and colours of chickens. They had brown, white and tan feathers. The rooster also had a red comb and a large, fluffy tail. The chickens were all roaming freely here and there. The chickens were running, walking, clucking, eating and pecking. We found out that another name for chicken is poultry.

On Friday 21st November the year 1s and 2s  went to the Yakult factory in Dandenong. This factory makes all the Yakult in the world.  We were in 2 groups and we went upstairs and downstairs to visit the different parts of the factory. In the classroom we learnt about Yakult. It was interesting. By Aarushi and Tanisha.

We tasted different kinds of milk. We had skim milk, goat milk, full cream milk and soy milk. The milks were all different. Most were white but the soy milk was brown because it had chocolate flavour in it. They were smooth, cold and creamy. Milk that we drink comes from cows, goats and soy beans. The milk was yyyuuuummmmmyyyy but our favourite milk was the chocolate soya milk. It was yum! By Jawad and Melwin.   

2JE had a pancake breakfast.YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a pancake breakfast because we got 25 days on time. It is our second breakfast and we got the best chefs to make it (Mrs Muir & Miss Pentland) YUMMY! Altogther 2JE ate 212.5 pancakes!    AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By Rebecca.
